Despite announcements about the imminent reopening of casinos and slots of Peru, in a recent press briefing about the matter and the framework of phase 4 of the Peruvian economic reactivation, Martos (on the left) stated that ‘the Ministry of Health has to establish protocols so that there is no type of contagion, we have not yet authorized the reopening of casinos and slot machines.’

He further pointed out that, with a difference to the European economic landscape, Peru and other Latam regions have been gradually and slowly reactivating different sectors of their economy, so that an additional outbreak of COVID-19 wouldn’t affect the economy in these regions as much as it has done in European countries. Yet despite this fact, casinos and slot machines are yet to be authorized to restart their usual services.

The president of the Council of Ministers concluded that if possible, the reopening will be analyzed with the authorities to be instated in mid-October ‘That is still under evaluation.’
